New drainage starts with the site: soil conditions, water table, outfall options, and the volumes of wastewater and stormwater the catchment will produce. From there we set line and level for every run, size the pipes for peak flow rather than average flow, and specify manholes, inspection chambers and rodding eyes where future access will be needed.

Installation follows the drawing exactly — bedding and surround for buried pipes, correct falls verified with a level rather than estimated, and airtight, watertight joints. Every run is water-tested before backfilling and before handover, so defects are found while they are still easy to reach.

Blockages range from a choked sink trap to a collapsed main line. We diagnose which is which before starting: rodding and plunging clear most household obstructions, while drain machines (spirals) reach deeper into kitchen and bathroom lines, and heavier sewer blockages are handled with proper sewer rods and, where needed, excavation.

After clearing a blockage we always ask why it formed. Grease and food waste point to kitchen practice and interceptors; recurring blockages in the same spot point to a fault in the line itself — a sag, a root intrusion, or a broken joint that needs repair, not another rodding.

Damaged drainage is repaired by excavation where the run is accessible, or by sectional repair where digging is impractical. We replace broken pipes, rebuild collapsed chambers, re-bed misaligned sections and reinstate falls that years of traffic and ground movement have flattened.

Stormwater systems — roof gutters, downpipes, yard drains, soakpits and outfalls — get the same treatment. Nairobi's rainy seasons test every stormwater line at once; a drain that barely coped in light rain will flood when the heavy season arrives, and we size and clear systems with that peak in mind.
